There is only one holiday listed on most calendar’s in March, St Patrick’s Day. Whether or not you are Irish, for those wanting to hold a party, it’s a pretty good holiday to celebrate. After all, what better excuse do you need to drink Irish ales and munch on corned beef and potatoes?
Kell’s Irish at 112 SW Second in Portland has an Irish festival March 15-18 to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.

In a perfect world, events would always go as planned, but sometimes life happens and things need to be cancelled or rescheduled. With some advance planning, you can avoid having to cancel most events and when you do need to cancel an event, you can make the cancellation much smoother.
For larger events, it is wise to purchase event cancellation insurance. Cancellation insurance will cover event costs in case of an unforeseen problem which necessitates cancellation or if a vendor is unable to deliver a service. You should be able to get this insurance from the same company that you use for your event liability insurance (which is often required and always smart for large events). Be sure to review all contracts carefully when signing up for any insurance plans so you know what is covered and what is not before a problem occurs.

It’s raining outside right now, but summer will come eventually and with it come a host of outdoor events including concerts. Even though it feels like summer is a long time away, events take a long time to plan, so there’s no time like the present to start.
Where do you intend on holding the concert? Popular outdoor concert venues in the Portland area include the Clark County Amphitheater, Oaks Park, Columbia Meadows in St Helens, the waterfront, and some Portland Parks. Be sure and get all necessary permits and insurance for your event and know the requirements and restrictions of your venue.
